When you save out JPEGs, make your image quality is set to 12. Also, image is too small.
This is looking a little bit more like stone than before, but I think you can push it even further.
There's too much black. Instead of filling the spaces between the rocks with black, think of how the rock wall is put together. Is there some sort of cement that's holding the rocks in place, or are the rocks simply stacked on top of each other?
If they're stacked, there should be less space between each rock. If there is some sort of cement, they should have some sort of spacing (spacing that isn't just a black void).
Also, if you go to http://cgtextures.com/ they have all sort of stone wall photo textures that you can use as inspiration for your hand-painted stone wall. :)
Yeah I always set the image quality to 12 on all of my works dealing with JPEGS format. Yeah i agree, i will work on those stone wall some more and clean up the black space gap between them. Thank you for the reference sites and i find them very helpful.

ReplyDeleteThanks
Maybe you should just save them as .pngs without the alpha layer. I think blogspot downscales the .jpgs when you upload them regardless.
